Tender is the flesh: the capitalization of human consumption both metaphorically and literally. 

I feel like i need to watch reviews/ dissections of this book. I would have loved to read this book and have class discussions about it and the themes and all the little nuances within the book in an academic setting.

 This will be a classic dystopian, social commentary much like 1984, Animal Farm, and Fahrenheit 451 and the like I can already tell. Very original. 

Chapter 3 is something else entirely; thats when I was hooked.

This book is really not for the faint of heart. Know that it is a fucked up plot about

cannibalism being legalized after a virus has infected all animals making animal meat/ products unsafe and unusable

so know that anything is really fair game at this point really. Rated R+++
