When I first learned about this book, I was cautiously optimistic that it would be interesting and not a snore fest since I’ve enjoyed Ruta Sepetys’s stories in the past. I’m happy to report that Ruta delivered! As someone with an English degree and half a master’s degree in literacy studies, I’ve read my fair share of books about writing. This is the first writing craft book I’ve ever read that was both entertaining and actually made me excited to pick up a pencil. I cannot recommend this enough to teachers, aspiring writers, and fans of Ruta Sepetys. While learning about writing you also learn about Ruta and about life and about yourself. I enjoyed this book even more than I thought I would and plan to buy a copy for my shelves!
