Faefever by Karen Marie Moning
5.0

In one of those I-can't-stop-reading-this-book moments, I stayed up all night finishing Faefever. It's addictive, there are no other words for Moning's talent and story.

Faefever drags you back into the Fever universe and, if you're like me reading all the books ontop of each other, it's hard to distance yourself from one book and the next. The story was an intense as normal, although I was less afraid of the dark this time around. I think the invention of MacHalo gave me hope.

A hell of a lot happens in Faefever, and I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it. Like the previous books, Mac's surrounded by people who want to use her special powers to go after the Sinsar Dubh. It annoyed me that she still didn't seem to trust Barrons or V'lane. I understand that they're keeping things from her. No-one wanted her to keep secrets and yet everyone managed to keep secrets from her. But at the same time, both V'lane and Barrons have done everything in their power to keep her safe. No wonder they both get angry when she withholds information. However, the drama with chasing the Sinsar Dubh escalated, and I'm glad to see there were changes to Mac and her reactions to OOPs.

My previous suspicions about Barrons still haven't changed. I, like Mac, don't think he's completely human. Everytime I think I've worked out who or what he is something changes my mind. I feel whoever he is has something to do with the 'Z' in his name (since it's also part of Mac's and his tattoos). But I guess I'm not enough of a detective to work it out.

My hatred of Rowena and the Order is growing (minus Dani, who is super cool). I don't know why Mac keeps wanting to go back to them, but that's her choice not mine.

The ending shocked me. What a cliff hanger. Never imagined any of the last 70-ish pages would happen.

5/5 stars and a desperate need for the next book.
