WOW, WOW, WOW! I thought this book was going to be all hype. I bought it when it first hit shelves because I thought it was pretty but then the next few months it blew up on tiktok and instagram as a big hitter book. I love that for authors but sometimes that will have me avoiding books till the noise dies down and I see what people are still talking about it 6 months later. But since I was trying to make it through my physical TBR this one stuck out to me because I love Viking history and norse mythology and I hadn’t read many books like that in the past few years. I’m thrilled I took the leap and jumped on the bandwagon full force because I loved literally every second of this book. I could barely put it down. The pacing of the plot, the twists (some obvious, some not), the magic, the Gods, and the characters where all top tier for what I’ve read not only this year but in the past few years as well. It had a wonderful mix of angsty enemy to lovers, bonding, and tension to make you want to fly right through it but also hate it when it’s over. I finished it and immediately googled book 2’s release date and how to apply for an ARC. This book is indescribably amazing and I will be recommending to anyone within earshot when asked my top books for 2024!
