Marvel: Powers of a Girl by Lorraine Cink

5.0

Empowering.
Learning about all the diverse women of the Marvel Universe is very empowering for me. Superheroes have, until recently, been viewed as very cisgender straight white male. Of course, there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but giving trans people, queer people, and women their spotlight as heroes is something that fits seamlessly into the discourse of 2019. Reading this book made me want to get more into comics, and I have read a few since then and greatly enjoyed it.
