Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
4.0

Even though I did not make it through this book as quickly as some of my other reads, I certainly enjoyed the story. It is written from the view point of Black Beauty, a pleasant and kind horse that survives and thrives under both kind and cruel masters during the turn-of-the-century London, England. It teaches the reader about kindness, understanding and how thoughtless actions have consequences.

Whether you are a child, a teenager or an adult, this book will find a spot in your heart. Black Beauty's simple outlook on life is enough to tug on anyone's heart string and remind them that all creatures deserve to be treated with respect.
