The Overdue Life of Amy Byler by Kelly Harms
4.0
Probably 3.5 stars to be honest.
Lots of good fantasy material here- excellently bookish heroine living in small town with beautiful house and great friends, leaving for an amazing time in NYC with a makeover, great dates, great clothes, great new love. ex-husband is equally worth it and not worth it (not enough to ditch new life to go back to for all of the good reasons). I appreciated the fact that it wasn't just the one week- that the story and relationships had a more realistic time to build.
Not sure why I keep (accidentally) picking books with moms of teenage girls in them. And then to have the teenage girl have to go into surgery. Been there. Done that. Miss my girl.
