It's a delight to get back to Willow's Whisper after several years! The larger mystery continues to unfold, as do the smaller interpersonal interactions - I particularly loved the developments in Nan and Clarion's friendship, as ever.

The artwork seems to have changed a little (not unexpected perhaps with such a gap between books), and felt a little stilted particularly in the beginning pages. I adjusted to it and it was still very cute and told the story well - and the story itself was charming and earnest, with amusing asides and small missteps and supportive friends and magical creatures.

While the main focus of the story (as with the prior books) is the front-and-centre one Nan and Clarion are dealing with, the mystery in the background does loop in, in places. (And it's good that main focus is elsewhere, otherwise it might get more than the little frustrating it is to continue with so little development in that background mystery, so large as it is.)
