So, I already knew I'd probably love this book because Amie Kaufman also co-authored the Illuminae Files and they were amazing. This was my first experience with Meagan Spooner, and, needless to say, she is now an author that I love!
This book was so good! The tension and romance was done just right and I loved the way everything was woven together. The characters themselves had a lot of depth to them but also weren't quick to believe things that seemed impossible.
My favorite character would definitely have to be the cat though. He always shows up at the perfect moments and I'm pretty sure half of the story happened only because of him and his meddling. Plus I just love animals. Loa.
As for genre, definitely YA Fantasy. This was a clean book as well, I don't recall any cursing and there was maybe one kissing scene. Highly recommend any Fantasy lovers checking this one out! I believe there will be a sequel coming out next year!
