This Time Next Year
by Sophie Cousens
I really liked the idea of this book. But it was sort of underwhelming. The main character was really self absorbed and not in a vain way, in a woe is me way. It was a little boring to read about how awful she felt her life was after a while. She was generally ungrateful and horrible and I didn’t like her much. On contrast the “love interest” was kind and generous and completely undeserving of the way she treated him.
They were thrown together so many different times and just narrowly missed interacting, but each flash back was a bit of a let down, there was no real climax or pinnacle in this book. I think is what the real problem was. The supporting characters had infinitely more personality than the main characters and are one of the only reasons I made it through this novel.
