"Children Make Terrible Pets" tells the story of Lucy, a spirited bear, and her new pet, Squeaker; who just so happens to be a little boy. Lucy finds Squeaker in the woods one day and quickly decides to claim him as her own, despite her mother's wise warnings that "Children Make Terrible Pets." Lucy and Squeaker become fast friends, finding fun everywhere they go. Soon, however, Squeaker goes missing and Lucy starts to realize just how much work a pet can be! With bright and descriptive illustrations accompanied by a cute storyline, this book is bound to become a favorite of kids ages 3-8. Younger children will love the vivid pictures and adorable "squeaks" heard throughout the story. While older kids will enjoy reading the dialogue and speech bubbles to themselves. Warning: this book is bound to elicit loud squeaking noises from your children!
