I struggle to rate this book. I loved the way it was written; it almost reads as a poetic journal entry. There were times the words felt like they spilled on the page with urgency, and others felt like time was slowed down so you could feel the moment. Overall, this potentially highly triggering book was so well written, and after reading the author’s note, I can see why/how. Charlie’s character is well developed; you want to see her come out on the other side of this life she’s battled. I just couldn’t come to love the story as a whole. The book was easy for me to put down—I never was fully engrossed by it, and the ending left more to be desired for me. Summed up: memorable book, forgettable ending.
