Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead
3.0
I'm so disappointed in this. I loved this series when it first came out, and honestly, Succubus Revealed is nothing like what this series started out to be. I used to like Georgina. I used to think she was strong, determined, and fun, then she met Seth. Since then she's been simpering, boring, and mopey. I'm one of the people in the camp that does not care for Seth at all, so to see the main character so completely obsessed with him is almost nauseating at times. The quest to find out more about Georgina's past that has been hinted at throughout is finally solved here, and it is oh, so, stupid. Let's start at the beginning.
This novel starts out with Georgina finding out she has been transferred to Las Vegas. Oh no! Not away from Seth! How will she go on?!?! Before we even get to arrive at that little tidbit though there is plenty of mundane daily life at a crappy job, dialogue that I'm sure is supposed to be cute and quirky with the supernatural gang, but is really just sappy and irritating, and a bit of demon bowling. I mean really, the actual substance in this could be written on two pages. Every other page is Georgina complaining, or supernatural friends trying to tell her what is going on while she is completely dense. So she is told she is getting transferred, and thinks, that's it, it's completely over with Seth, which I find completely silly. A few events unfold that make it ridiculously obvious what is going on, but of course Georgina doesn't get it, and won't listen to friends about it. I don't know how this is even a novel really. Ever series out there starts to stagnate and turns into overly long daily conversations with a little bit of something thrown in to make it publishable. It's just not good enough, and it's a sad end to this series. I would go so far as to call this fluff it is so pointless, but I'm getting ranty, better pull back.
Basically, if you liked this series, definitely read this. There are answers to be had and happy endings abound. If you are expecting a kick butt succubus, or some wild Vegas fun, well, don't. This mostly just a closing to tie everything up in a nice little bow. There is a drunken Santa, a Vegas show, and a vampire assassin, but don't get excited they only appear for a few pages, really aren't that important, and are completely forgotten about by the author. I don't know why I'm even giving this three stars, it doesn't deserve it.
