The Grapes of Wrath
by John Steinbeck
DID NOT FINISH: 12%
I don’t believe in banning books, yet understand others perspectives on the issue especially after reading The Grapes of Wrath.
I believe that literature offers readers a perspective on people and society during different time periods. It allows us to compare that period to now, to a future we would like to plan for.
I specifically struggled with the vulgarity, misogyny, and slow pace of the book.
Although I may not enjoy a book I tend not to abandon a book because I want to give a thorough review. In this case, I simply cannot.
