2.5 stars, but I'll have to read the next volume to be sure how I feel about this. The art is nice and it doesn't seem bad so far--I actually enjoy the somewhat steampunk feel to the setting, and it being set in Belle Epoque France rather than Victorian England for once--but certain aspects seem a little similar to other series I've read (D Gray Man, for one--which I loved, so I would hate to see it imitated), and I'm slightly annoyed by the protagonist's cat, who so far seems to only be there as a prop ("Look! Fluffy! Like me!"). I'm interested to see if/how Vanitas distinguishes itself from other vampire manga.
