Bipolar 1 Disorder: How to Survive and Thrive by Molly McHugh

4.0

This was a very helpful memoir. It details both the impressions and reality behind having bipolar I, as well as comparisons to bipolar 2. It offers concrete facts behind the several doctors and diagnosis routes the author had to go through. It gives tips on how the author has learned to control the disease and thrive despite it. As someone with a recently-diagnosed Bipolar 1 loved one, it was very helpful in understanding what they are going through and how to truly help them on a day-by-day basis. While her narrative wandered a little, it was useful information.
