This was such an eye opening read for me. It quite literally laid before me how the impact of slavery affecting generations of Ghanaians. I had to stop reading and just reflect often throughout the book. It feels like a novel that should be read in high schools across America. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was because I was sad not to get more from each character, and it took me a long time to read because each chapter felt like a short story in a way. But that was the whole reason it worked, I just want a novel for each chapter lol!
