Not every book is for every reader.

What I liked: Evie's personality. She's relatable, even if she has a "whelp, what's a girl gonna do" attitude. I liked that each character was unique and well written, for the most part.

What didn't hit with me: the book is long and very plot driven. There are throw away lines to close plot holes, but they don't feel genuine. The romance build up is just a simmer the entire time. It's a lot of "his expression was unreadable" when he's just trying to hide his feelings.
There is no pay off.
Even the plot twist at the end felt forced.

The audiobook narrator has weird inflections and pauses that made it hard to pay attention so I switched to the hard copy.
