I surprised myself by loving this book as much as I did. Going into it, I was hesitant it would spark any kind of smile from me - I was worried the characters would be a little too one dimensional and I would roll my eyes at the small town.

Piper was the last character I expected to relate so much too. Her insecurities about being liked, the way she talked about her worry of coming off vapid, really floored me. I thought she was an incredibly well written character with a lot of dimension.

I have to talk about Brendan too. He's such a wonderful character and I found myself really loving his readiness for commitment and taking charge. I could easily see that, for him, seven years had passed since his wife died and he had processed and was ready to move on, even if other characters were struggling with it.

I only docked a star because, like a lot of other reviewers pointed out, this book is not diverse at all. It felt like a Halmark movie, it was romantic and enjoyable, but at the end of the day it didn't feel like a true reflection of the world. But for a fluffy read that had me smiling more times I can count, I can see why it's so beloved.
