2023: This book really blew me away. KI is the master of the character study - NLMG similarly gripped me, and I sped through this one. The pacing is perfect, with just the right amount of information revealed as the book goes along. Definitely a bit emotional by the end. Beautiful and fascinating.

2024: this book KILLS ME. Beautiful, heartbreaking, perfectly paced. "Indeed - why should I not admit it? - at that moment, my heart was breaking."
