Good Guys Don't Lie
by Micalea Smeltzer
Cree and Ophelia’s story is a unique one that happens when one night at a bonfire party they both have social anxiety so they automatically hit it off. They don’t share their real names because the mystery is fun for them and lets them be carefree, so they go with The Great Gatsby’s characters.Their attraction to each other is instant and Cree knows he has found the one girl that will always hold his heart, yet at the end of the night she challenges him to find her if things are meant to be. Fast forward a year Cree has spent the whole year looking for his mystery girl but he doesn’t have luck on his side. This story was a cute one that I loved each character. Cree was this amazing sweetheart who wasn’t a jock playboy, he had anxiety yet at times he could be alpha and had his own kinks that were hot. Ophelia’s character was an interesting one as she struggled with simple things I just wished we got more information on her diagnoses so we could connect more with her but it was still handled with care. She was sweet, fun, and was ready to make her own path in life. I felt bad for her as she was handled so differently by her parents and never felt like she was enough. As soon as I read the blurb I was instantly interested and wanted to dive in, yet I do feel like the lie wasn’t that major of a deal or the incident with Ophelia wasn’t as big of a deal that it was made to be and would loved to see more of them after the issues resolved. Overall this was a great read and I am dying for more of Jack, Millie, and even Daire.
