Polysecure: Attachment, Trauma and Consensual Nonmonogamy by Jessica Fern

challenging hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

5.0

Polysecure is an important book for anyone considering or practicing polyamory, but also the knowledge shared about how to become more secure internally and in relationships is priceless for everyone, regardless of relationship status. It's a very helpful self care book and also a practical guide for more safe and secure interactions, including with the self.

I will put a caveat that while the book is lovingly inclusive of queer and trans people, the author unfortunately uses "transgendered" and "cisgendered" which were already discussed as inappropriate in 2020 when the book was released. The messaging is sound, it's just the wording that's not right. Other than that, fabulous.

Original DNF in 2021:

This DNF is more of an elongated pause. This book is very good, but I haven't been in the mood for self-help writing lately and the library keeps sending me the book when I'm not ready so I decided to DNF for now to clear my Currently Reading shelf.
