Great potential but this book was just not compatible with me. The writing was too flowery and too poetic for my preference; I struggled trying to read through everything so I skimmed through the entire book, skipping big chunks of text and just reading the dialogue because I was still really interested in the storyline. There's also a lot of commentary about race, gender, sexuality, and political corruption, that it was just a flood of information.
I really enjoyed the inclusion of Botswana mythology but the contrast against the science fiction themes was kind of hard to follow as well.
