Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

2.0

While the premise of this book was interesting, I feel as if the overall plot failed to delver. I had misleading visions of bloodthirsty assassins and mystique everywhere, but all I got were a lot of politics and romance. Now, nothing is wrong with politics and romance but see, I thought I was going to get assassins here. Instead, all I got was a weak willed heroine.

Somehow I managed to make it through the 500+ page book. with little to no collateral damage. Sure my time was wasted but I was intrigued at the start. Ismae seemed like she was going to be a strong character but it kind of degraded the further along you read into the novel. Though there was one redeeming scene at the end, I will be reading the sequel.
