A Perfect Day to be Alone was an interesting read. While initially I found it a little hard to get through - due to the slow pacing - the chapters towards the end were interesting. As someone who is around the age of the main character, it made me reflect on appreciating the mundane, smaller things in my life that go unnoticed. Despite this, there were some parts in the books that made me feel conflicted - for example, the relationship with the married man (even if it wasn’t explored) - however, I do think it builds on the characteristics of Chizu.
Graphic: Suicide attempt
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts
Minor: Body shaming
