The Girl Who Became a Tree: A Story Told in Poems by Joseph Coelho

4.0

This book was written in verse and I enjoyed it a lot. It was very similar to [b:A Monster Calls|25480342|A Monster Calls|Patrick Ness|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1430763000l/25480342._SY75_.jpg|13492114], in that it's sort of all in her head, helping her cope with her grief. I especially liked her love of books and that she goes there as a sort of safe haven. And her phone, the reason why she likes it so much. It's so sad. But for me, it wasn't sad enough. I didn't cry and I think I should have. Then, in her whole head fantasy thing, she meets someone she likes? And I didn't really get that part. Overall, this book was good, would recommend it.
