A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle
4.0
Time to read the classics in the thriller and mystery genre eh?
I had been hearing about Sherlock Holmes ever since the time my classmates and I realized what 'murder mystery' means. I used to visit my friends' places and see a couple of them having a copy of Sherlock Holmes in their parents' bookshelves.
I had watched Robert Downey Jr acting as Sherlock and I was immediately a fan of the character. Still did not read the books.
Watched Benedict Cumberbatch act as Sherlock. Enjoyed it. Still did not read the books.
Here I am in 2022, finishing the first book of the series and it is exciting, though I had gotten confused with a sudden start of Part 2 of the novel. I was confused what was I reading or whether it was a misprint of some sort. But overall I loved the additional backstory given to us before the conclusion of the case.
