The Scarletti Curse by Christine Feehan

4.0

It is a standalone novel that goes way back for Dark Symphony, one of the books in Dark Carpathian series by the same author. It is set in Gothic Italy and is considered as a historical fiction. I love it, like most of Christine Feehan books since she has become my fave author after I read her Ghostwalker novels. Would recommend for people that don't want to read her long list series but just want to get to know her work. You should check out Lair of the Lion for it has the same set up; historical romance standalone but with a touch of paranormal of shapeshifting into a lion(?)
