Darkest Sins by Neva Altaj

I’m kinda obsessed with this series.
Kai has essentially been raised to be a killing machine. No joke. He doesn’t feel love or affection. His world as a contract killer revolves only around death.
Nera is a mafia princess who is currently living independently until the time where she will be married to strengthen the family. She is resigned to this fate.
Nera finds Kai bleeding out in an ally and decides to help him against her better judgement. Nobody has ever helped him before and he immediately is drawn to her. He makes it his personal mission to always keep her safe. He is obsessive, possessive and a true stalker. The very definition of touch her and die.
As they spend time together they agree to no lies, only secrets. They know nothing about each other including their names.
This book is incredibly fast paced. It time jumps back and forth to when Kai is a child to learn why he is this way. I loved watching his personal growth and seeing how deeply he cares for Nera. He still hates everyone but her.
Nera is forced to make some tough decisions and she is a total badass. She will do anything to protect her family. She has a very special bond with her sister.
Their love story is complicated and super intense. They make great use of counter tops.
