The Torment of Two
by K. Webster
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌶🌶.5
The Torment of Two is the 5th and final book in the Shameful Secrets series. I have absolutely adored this entire series by one of my favorite taboo authors, K Webster. These are pretty tame compared to most of her other taboo books, so I think it is the perfect series to read if you are not ready for books like Wild or Hale.
Tristian “Two” Sheridan always felt like the second choice to his adoptive parents once he discovered hidden pictures and a letter about the daughter they were supposed to adopt, Gemma. Two shows his displeasure and hatred for Gemma when he gets paired up with her for an extremely important class project.
Gemma Parks is a successful influencer, and she may seem like a spoiled rich girl, but she has much more to her. She is excited for college since her parents are very overprotective of her, and she wants more freedom. She has no idea why Two hates her, but she is determined to figure it out and try to win him over. Luckily, we do not have to wait long for their connection and attraction to grow. Unfortunately, Gemma is receiving creepy letters and flowers from a stalker so Two steps up to help protect her.
I have to say I loved the mental health rep in this book and how Two was very active in his therapy. Of course, I loved that Tate became his new therapist, and we got to see him bring Two out of his shell and help him get over his hang-ups about hating Gemma.
This was actually really low angst and spice, which I really enjoyed. I guessed who the stalker was pretty quickly, but it still had an exciting 3rd act.
I would highly recommend this series, and it is now available on KU, so make sure to check it out.
Side note: I really want to take the Enneagram quiz to learn more about my personality 🤣🤣🤣
