The Cold Dish: A Longmire Mystery
by Craig Johnson
I love a good mystery novel. I, as well as most avid readers, can say that it’s hard to find a good mystery novel. I mean they can’t all be Murder on the Orient Express. So when I picked up this book, somewhat sheepishly as I’d already watched the Longmire series, I was expecting to find another whodunit that held my attention for a while before I figured it out and finished the book disappointed in the lack of originality. Well SPOILER ALERT FOLKS this book was phenomenal. I couldn’t put it down. The characters were both familiar and yet intriguingly different from the show. The story twisted around in ways I wasn’t expecting and the ending, people listen, I didn’t see it coming. I can’t remember the last time I was this shocked by the final reveal. I’ve read all of the Longmire books now that I’m getting around to writing this review and this one is by far the best.
