Odd Apocalypse by Dean Koontz
4.0
I'm a little undecided about the way the Odd Thomas books are evolving. The once innocent, naive, charming and funny Odd is becoming darker with every book. I accept a character cannot remain stagnant and has to develop over a series but I definitely miss the Odd of the first couple of books. Saying that I still enjoy each book and find myself captivated with the stories.
This one as with the previous two I have found slow to start, taking a third of the book before I begin to understand what is going on, it is no longer as simple as "I see dead people" we are far beyond that now and my ability to keep up with Koontz's imagination is proving to be lacking but I get there in the end!
I'm still getting used to the addition of Annamaria into the mix however Odd does need a side kick of sorts and she definitely shares a weirdness with him that that makes her a good fit.
All in all a solid 4 stars
