5 stars because Neil Gaiman. Seriously though, this wasn't my favorite. I think it's mainly because I like my books less episodic and more tightly connected; but, as usual with Neil, the writing is impeccable. I'd recommend this book purely for the ending- so heartfelt and as realistic as it can be for, you know, a living human being raised by ghosts. No big deal, whatevs.
