I gave it a 5 star because I loved reading it. I loved the characters and how much Bakman could name things about human life that felt so true, but then make you laugh so hard. This is a story of the deep love of friendship. I also loved how it included art so profoundly in it's musings on life.  I needed this book. 

The ending was a bit fanciful. Too many ends in cute tidy bows. I thought about reducing my stars for that, but the love of the characters and musings on humanity overwhelmed my dislike for some of the ending
