Heart of Thorns by S. Massery
5.0
This book is a perfect mix of emotional growth, humor, and sizzling chemistry. Cassius Thorne III, a charming quarterback, fakes a relationship with Briar Hart, the snarky "black cat" on campus, to escape his parents’ controlling plans. Their fake dating trope evolves into something real, with heartfelt moments and undeniable tension. I loved Briar’s strength and resilience as she worked through her trauma, and Cassius’s patience and protectiveness were swoon-worthy. Their banter was sharp, their chemistry electric, and the emotional depth truly stoacod out. With a seamless transition from staged romance to genuine love, this story had me laughing, swooning, and hooked until the end. A must-read for fans of college sports romances and fake dating tropes.
