Dark Avengers, Volume 2: Molecule Man by Brian Michael Bendis

2.0

I'm reading this as a part of my Venom/Carnage/Anti-Venom/symbitoes read through of the spider-verse.

This book was disappointing on many levels. As a team book, there's always the chance that there isn't going to be a heavy focus on the character whose history I'm trying to read, and that was definitely the case here. This is more for Norman Osborn fans and people who really hate The Sentry. But there are some character beats in this book that revolve around Venom, they're just Bad. The sort-of-gag is that Venom's host is being medicated (similarly to Norman Osborn) and that it's making him less aggressive so the rest of the team constantly belittles him. Ok? But it doesn't lead anywhere. In fact, the next book on the list completely ignores this characterization and throws him to the opposite extreme where he's super Macho to the point of ridiculousness.

This just ends up being thoroughly skippable for my read through, and also not enjoyable on its own merits, it certainly ranks among my least favorite Bendis books.
