The Iron Sword by Julie Kagawa

3.0

Book 2: The story continues and we learn that something waaaaaay bigger than anyone could have ever imagined is actually happening!

But I wonder if the reader could have predicted this or not? Once more, past events are brought up (though they are summarized so we technically don't miss anything other than personally experiencing them) and we meet some of the characters that had been mentioned previously (ex. The Queen's brother and his wife, which, btw, they're both really cool). But similar to the first book, I just feel a bit meh about everything.

This book is written in the same way as book one: we follow one POV (this time it's the King's), follow clues/going on a journey, have a big battle at the end, and then leave things *in suspense*. Except that the King isn't a very interesting character and it takes so long to learn what's going on that for most of it I wondered when we'd be done 😅

I'll probably read the next book since I've already read 2/3 of it, may as well close things off
