As soon as I started reading I was instantly transported back to the Million Acre Wood and the Warren Sans Gloire.
I loved continuing the story of Anastasia and her friends as they battle for the right to live without fear. These books are so cleverly written, I could absolutely believe that the animal kingdom really works in that way. The attention to detail is sublime. Like the way each chapter starts with a passage from the Rabbit version of the Bible, or a verse of an animal nursery rhyme, or a quote.
This book took me on a total adventure. I felt the sadness, fear and victory along with the animals, and was rooting for my favourites to win. I'm now looking forward to book 3 to find out how the story ends.
