Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari

5.0

Absolutely fascinating. This is one of those rare non-fiction books that's so exciting to read you devour it like a novel. It was hard to put down.

As you would expect from a book covering the whole story of Homo Sapiens right back from our evolutionary origins to hypotheses about what the future millennia might hold for us, this book discusses a huge range of issues and controversial ideas. But what makes it so unnerving to read is that Harari tackles these topics from a far more objective standpoint than we are accustomed to thinking about ourselves. Somewhat existential crisis inducing! He challenges norms that we take as given, and there will definitely be viewpoints in here that you disagree with. I'd encourage everyone to read this book.
