The Lonely by Tara Brown
3.0
First, let me start off with saying I expected something much darker than what I got. I expected a girl with crippling OCD, and a true death with and I will tell you that's NOT what I got.
I really wanted this story to be darker, I mean with a tag line like, "How far would you go to end yourself?" how could I not?
Instead what I got was a orphan, who didn't remember much, and best friend a little bit on the wild side, medicare OCD and lots of money. That is pretty much what the book is about. The Character development, is good I wish there was little more in depth back ground Story on Emalyn, but again she didn't remember but. I wish also too that her OCD was stronger than the need for an excessive amount hand sanitizer, and I wish It took her much much much longer to get where she was at the end of the book. Realistically the time line just wasn't realistic at all......
MINOR SPOILER....
There is BDSM, I love it. I love anything revolving around it. I like the development of how it happened and her willingness to give in after all the struggles she'd been through. THIS IS NOTHING LIKE 50 SHADES OF GREY, so if that's what you're expecting please try again you'll be disappointed. The book, was good on its own, it kept me enticed to find out what had happened to her.
I just needed it to be darker, for her struggle to be more real. I just needed more the lonely was barely even mentioned...
