7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy! (Manga) Vol. 1 by Hinoki Kino, Touko Amekawa

3.75

I first discovered 7th Time Loop through the anime series and then decided to try the manga. I enjoyed this first volume, although I do hope that my ratings get higher as the story progresses.

Despite the subtitle, this is absolutely not a story about a villianess and I can't help thinking that the word was only used in order to cash in on the current popularity of the villianess Isekai/reincarnation trope in light novels, manga and anime. The main character is instantly likeable and I enjoy how very different her seven lives have been, albeit it doesn't really make sense that she would achieve everything she has in only five years for each time loop.

I enjoy the dynamic between the two main characters and particularly the way that neither of them understand each other and their motives are largely unclear. The romance is definitely slowburn (appropriately, with Rishe having been killed by Arnold in her previous life) but they have chemistry almost from the time they meet.
