Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman

5.0

What can I say about Practical Magic? Heart-warming. Relatable. Beautiful.

I’ve watched the film countless times and while the novel is different in many ways, it carries the same brilliant characterisation, story-building, and feel good appeal – ‘feel good’ as in wrapped in a snuggly shawl as you curl up on the couch with your favourite hot beverage.

The storyline is a wonderful reflection of the pattern that each generation of Owens women face, including the differences between each pair of sisters, not just Sally and Gillian.

I’ve already bought 2 more books by Alice Hoffman to start on. I can’t wait to return to the Owens’ magic.
