I love the illustrations in this story, but the story is not as good as Frederick to me. I do like the lesson that even after a profound loss, Nadarin did not lose his sense of wonder, and was able to find a new community and protect them based on what he saw happen in the last instance. Knowing that characters have learned a lesson is very important, even if the happening was by no fault of their own.
