explicitly articulates some stuff i’ve long felt to be true about cities, and have even written about using less direct sources.
did get a bit lost in the specifics in the middle, amidst the descriptions of cities i don’t know and which possibly no longer exist (at least in the particular image lynch outlines). the age of the book does make some of its discussion slightly uncanny, just because cities change so much over time.
