This is a relatively innovative piece of literature considering it’s a Filipino book, that is, the fourth wall was broken within the plot itself and typically taboo topics for the average Filipino were explored. The style and theme are both easily found in Western media, but I’ve never read something similar to this written by a Filipino author. Or maybe I’ve never explored enough Filipino writing for me to speak confidently on the matter. Regardless, reading this was a fun experience, I definitely got smiles out of it and some tinge of pain as well.

As for the writing, it read like Bob Ong. Ricky Lee writes like a usual Filipino talks, so it’s accessible enough. There are some uncommon words, but nothing too much that would make you put down the book for not being able to comprehend what it says.

I could’ve given this a lower rating, but with my lack of reading experience in the romance genre I feel that I’m not that fit to judge if each chapter actually features a good romance story or not. I just felt things. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
