Kiss This
by Anne Mercier
I usually love YA books. Despite this claiming to be a YA book for YA aged readers, I still gave it a go.
First of all, and most importantly, the bullying and fat shaming here is not something I’m down with, or something I will ever say is okay. The portrayal of Jillie as the victim doesn’t fly with me, especially when I don’t feel her actions were entirely warranted.
Also, I found the storyline ran in fits and starts. The sex scene went from 0-100 in a page. A page. Even a YA for YA deserves more than that.
I also felt the cliffhanger kind of came out of nowhere.
Again, I love YA books but I won’t be continuing with this series.
