Ripper by Isabel Allende
3.0

What I always love about Isabel Allende's novels is how her characters have so much depth and jump off the pages. I felt this was lacking in Ripper and that the characters in general seemed pretty shallow. There was a point at the climax where I was absorbed, but even the twist felt somewhat forced. I especially didn't buy the reveal of the killer. Allende is a wonderful writer, but Ripper definitely leaves something to be desired. You're better off reading House of the Spirits, or my personal favorite, Ines of My Soul.
