The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco

5.0

The Girl from the Well's vengeful rate of connected five stars is a representation of my high recommendation for the entirety of the novel. As someone who has a solid interest in Japan and its overall beauty, I found this book top-notch. How Okiku was given another angle in a modern approach is just admirable and truly commendable. I recommend this for those readers who want to view Sadako and the girl from the Ring in a charming manner.

The strengths of the book are its conveniently-relaxed writing style making its totality charming, engaging, and captivating, vivid and colorful descriptions to interweave the magnificence of the real and the imaginary, splendidly-elevated progression of plot that completely utilized the materials established for the essence of the story, and lastly is its accomplished usage of Japanese referencing. The only weakness I found lies within the novel's twisted ending and that might be due to its sequel.
