Pretty Boys Are Poisonous: Poems by Megan Fox

dark emotional sad fast-paced

4.75

Oh what a sad, beautiful, tragic piece of literature. This collection of poetry is sick, gorgeous, heartbreaking, painful, and mostly gloriously nauseating. I hope to God that this book is at least in some parts founded in fiction because the tales accounted here are beyond harrowing. I’m not a fan of this notes app-esque poetry. But this book is as well as anything can be done in the genre. It’s witty, clever, there are mentions of Greek mythology and the writing feels almost silky. Readers should see the trigger warnings before reading this though.
