We Won't Be Here Tomorrow: And Other Stories by Margaret Killjoy

4.0

A wonderful collection of stories! Some feel incredibly fresh and prescient to the age in which we live, others feel indescribably, immeasurably ancient. But they are all, unequivocally, earnest, queer and punk as fuck.
Margaret Killjoys voice and prose is as always unmistakable.
Its a lovely change of pace to read something that is so sincere and uncynical. The worlds described are often similar to our own, the characters have been beaten down and broken, much like many of us, but there is no ounce of cynicism in their words. If anything, the state of the worlds around them make their beliefs more undeniable, more clear. And in a world that seems steeped in post-irony, that lets disaster after disaster crash upon its shores with barely a reaction save for sarcastic twitter memes, that is exactly the voice and the attitude we need.
